Hello, fall.

It’s that time of year again when the leaves change from green to orange, yellow, and red, the farmers markets set pumpkins out to replace the watermelons and strawberries, shorts are put away in exchange for boots and sweaters, and the air gets crisp with only the slight warmth of the leftover summer sun that kisses your cheeks through the window. I used to proclaim summer as my absolute favorite season, but in my ripe old age of twenty-two, I have come to fully appreciate the change of the season that brings with it  the rush of back-to-school madness, crunching leaves, and the excitement of Halloween on the cool breeze.

Cooler weather always gets me in the mood for a good book, and I am currently elbow deep in George R.R. Martin’s A Clash of Kings, which is part of A Game of Thrones series. To be honest, not much was expected from me of these books, simply because any bookworm knows that most of the time, the books are always better than the movie or television show. I don’t know if the books ruined the show or if the show ruined the books, but I really don’t care because even though I already know what happens in A Clash of Kings, I still can’t read it fast enough to satisfy my hunger for the series. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in fantasy, fiction, action, adventure, and all and in between.

Until next time,

E
